Have you given your children's teacher a gift yet? Well, we've got something really fun for teacher. How about a "Back to School" Survival Kit. It's one that can be given at anytime throughout the year, with the exception of the end of the year.
Here is our first design.....in the traditional red. Then we decided we needed more color options and created 5 more (See them below)
We found two different plastic boxes for the survival kit. You can find these boxes at most craft stores. We found them at JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby and Michaels. Only 3.99. One has small square compartments and the other has longer rectangular compartments.
This is the one we decided to use. I like the bigger compartments. They give you better options, whether you want to put in candy or school supplies or whatever. I had a vision of buying my favorite chocolates, Mrs. Cavanaugh's, and putting the candy inside this case. Their Chocolate Pecan Turtles are to die for! Teacher would be thrilled with their chocolates.
Here are some things you could put in your Survival Kit...Candies and supplies. (Notice the Smarties!) There are so many things you could put in the box and right now school supplies are sooooo cheap! I've found that Shopko has the best prices (28 cents for crayons etc) If you're wondering why the batteries....I'm sure there's a need for batteries in the classroom or at home. (think outside the box)
The free printable comes in 6 different colors: Red, Lime Green, Dark Purple, Butterscotch (yellow), Orange and Light Blue. We wanted to make sure there was a color for both women and men teachers. (how did we do?)
Choose your favorite color or your teacher's favorite color for your Survival Kit from these 6 different printables.
We used foam tabs to attach the sign to the box. (One in each corner and in the middle of each side) Use ribbon you already have or buy it by the yard (so you don't have to buy a whole roll of ribbon) We used 46" for our bows but they could be smaller.
We are re-designing our Back to School Survival Kit and it will be available in the Fall.

This is a great idea. Cool.
ReplyDeleteI think teachers will really like
this. I am going to include this on
